How to purify your hands and mouth

Wash our hands to purify ourselves before making a prayer at the shrine.

１．Take the dipper with your right hand and pour some water over your left hand to rinse it.

右手で柄杓を持って水をくみ、左手を清めます。

２．Shift the dipper to your left hand and rinse your right hand.

　　柄杓を左手に持ち替えて、右手を清めます。

３．Take the dipper with your right hand again,and pour water into your left cupped hand and rinse your mouth.

　　Don't put a dipper to one's lips.

　　Don't drink water in Temizuya.

　　再度右手に持ち替えて水をくみ、口をすすぎます。

　　柄杓に直接口をつけないでください。

　　手水舎の水は飲まないでください。

４．Rinse your left hand again.

　　もう一度左手を清めます。

５．Finaly, tilt the dipper so that the remaining water trickles down the handle to cleanse it.

　　最後に柄杓を傾けて柄を清め、もとに戻します。
